Payday 2 blue armor
On every deck bar Stoic, Bullseye grants the same 5 points of armor (worth 1 hit if procced when the player has no armor, due to armor gating) on a headshot, but 1 hit worth of armor backed up with 60+ dodge is clearly strictly better than 1 hit of armor with 0 dodge. However, it must be noted that the coin flip is weighted in favor of the player - on defense, a Rogue/Hacker has 60/65% chance to avoid damage.ĭodge enhances the potency of Bullseye. In the worst case, a dodge user being shot at twice will fail both luck rolls and go down, while a baseline ICTV user would be left standing, albeit with no armor. This introduces an element of randomness, or detractors would say, unreliability, to the player's survival.

The truth is between these two extremes, but closer to the viable side.ĭodge grants the player a chance to avoid all damage from an incoming attack. There are players claiming it is the only viable deck on Death Sentence, and others claiming it is the worst deck on Death Sentence. Taking first aid kits also means that a Stoic that goes down too many times will have to rely on his teammates or pre-planning for doctor bags.ĭodge perk decks elicit similar reactions to their in-game performance. Additionally, green Bulldozers deal enough damage at close range to cut through Stoic's massive health pool. First aid kits are essential in recovering. Stoic's weakness is Cloakers, as they down the player immediately and leave him with 10% health and no armor after being revived. Snipers pose no more threat than heavy ZEALS, as Stoic has no armor. Objectives are just as easy, between Die Hard basic's damage reduction, the ability to use the flask while interacting, and if necessary Uppers aced's automatic activation on a pre-planted first aid kit. This makes defending and running trivial. With the ICTV, Stoics can withstand a tremendous number of hits from heavy ZEALs and recover all the health lost with a flask activation or first aid kit. Doctor bags are also forgone in favor of first aid kits and Quick Fix to plant them faster. This means grabbing Iron Man for the ICTV, and Hostage Taker for the 4.5% health every 5s, without which the Stoic would be on a death march. The goal when building Stoic is to maximize health and health regeneration. This even carries over into how they are to be built: while Anarchist uses the suit and no points on survival skills, Stoic uses the ICTV and a hefty investment in both Hostage Taker and Iron Man. Instead of turning health into armor, it turns armor into health instead of having constant armor regeneration, it has absolutely no armor regeneration. Stoic is almost the polar opposite of Anarchist, yet it shares a spot in the top tier. Preferred Skills: Hostage Taker aced, Iron Man aced, Quick Fix aced, Uppers aced Despite this flaw, it remains in my opinion the best perk deck in the game. It has no health, armor, or dodge to tank a sniper shot.

This provides Anarchist with a lot of free skill points to spend on weapons or other utility skills.Īnarchist, however, has a crippling weakness to snipers. Frenzy is also not needed, as the small chunks of armor regained are blown off in one hit, with or without Frenzy. Sneaky Bastard does not provide sufficient return on investment, as the deck's base dodge is low even in a suit. Iron Man is skipped, as the suit is used. Hostage Taker is useless, as the player goes down in one hit with his reduced health. While a freshly spawned or revived Anarchist will lose almost all his armor within a few attacks, the steady stream of armor regeneration coupled with the armor gating mechanic and 2s invulnerability ensures that even the strongest attacks will have a tough time taking the player down.Īnarchist is also unique in requiring minimal investment in survival skills. The suit is used as the goal is to maximize Blitzkrieg Bop's regeneration rate, not the maximum amount of armor the player can have. Thus, with even a small amount of armor, it will take two hits, not one, to down the player: one to break armor, and another to wipe out health.Īnarchist exploits this by having two additional sources of armor regeneration on its Blitzkrieg Bop and Lust for Life cards. Other than snipers, if an attack would deal enough damage to break the player's armor, the excess damage is not carried over to health. The mechanic that makes Anarchist tick is known as armor gating. While Anarchist is capable of reaching large maximum armor values, it is best used with the lightest armor in the game, and Anarchists will spend most of their time in-game with barely a sliver of armor.

The best perk deck is also a confusing one for players who haven't delved into the game's mechanics.
